
Year 11 Student Personal Statements Instructions for Students Instructions for completing your Personal Statement online. Use your completed self-assessment sheet to help you. You should aim to write three or four paragraphs. Consider the following questions: 1. What are your achievements in school? a) What have you received bad white slips for this year? b) What have you received good white slips for this year? c) What extra-curricular activities have you been involved in? d) What are you proud of? 2. What are your achievements out of school? a) What are you involved in? b) What certificates or awards have you achieved? c) What are you proud of? 3. Look at your mock results. a) What have you done well? b) What could you have done better? 4. What are your personal targets? The targets need to be specific, measurable and achievable: e.g. “I will discuss with my teacher what I need to do to achieve a higher grade in History. I will spend at least 45 minutes on history homework every week.” is preferable to “I will do better in history”. 5. What are your ambitions? Where do you see yourself in four year’s time?
